The Beginning
aiDo was born from founder Jon's personal experience planning his own wedding in Mauritius – a beautiful island in the Indian Ocean. He discovered firsthand how unnecessarily stressful and complex wedding planning can be, especially for destination weddings.
The challenge of coordinating family and friends traveling from the US and Canada to the other side of the world highlighted the need for a better solution.
As a software engineer with a passion for AI, Jon created aiDo to solve the exact problems he faced. How could guests know what to expect when they arrived? How could all the complex logistics across time zones and cultures be managed efficiently? These real challenges inspired the creation of a tool he wished had existed for his own special day.
aiDo's mission is to transform the wedding planning experience by combining cutting-edge AI with intuitive design. The platform leverages natural language processing and a comprehensive wedding data model to create a conversational planning assistant that understands the nuances of wedding planning.
Jon developed aiDo as an independent project to bring enterprise-grade AI capabilities to personal event planning, making it accessible to anyone planning their special day – whether it's a local ceremony or a destination wedding halfway around the world.
